154. Dua for leaving home

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللّٰهِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللّٰهِ

bismillaahi, tawakkaltu 'alal-laahi, laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaah

Translation

In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah and there is no might nor power except with Allah.

Narrated Anas ibn Malik (RA): The Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a man goes out of his house and say these words, the following will be said to him at that time: "You are guided, defended and protected." The devils will go far from him and another devil will say: How can you deal with a man who has been guided, defended and protected?

155. Dua before leaving house

Umm Salamah (RA) narrated that: When the Prophet (ﷺ) would leave his house, he would say:

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ اَللَّـهُمَّ إِنَّا نَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَنْ نَزِلَّ أَوْ نَضِلَّ أَوْ نَظْلِمَ أَوْ نُظْلَمَ أَوْ نَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيْنَا

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللّٰهِ اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّا نَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ اَنْ نَزِلَّ اَوْ نَضِلَّ اَوْ نَظْلِمَ اَوْ نُظْلَمَ اَوْ نَجْهَلَ اَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيْنَا

Bismillaahi, tawakkaltu 'alal-laahi. Allaahumma, inna na`udhu bika min an nazilla aw nadilla, aw nazlima aw nuzlama, aw najhala aw yujhala 'alaina

Translation

In the Name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah. O Allah! We seek refuge in You from slipping unintentionally or becoming misguided, or committing oppression or being oppressed, or acting ignorantly or being treated ignorantly.

A mu'min should recite these adhkar by his/her heart whenever (Day/Night) he/she goes outside.

156. Dua when leaving the house

Umm Salamah (RA) said, whenever Rasul (ﷺ) went outside my home he recite these words looking at the sky-

اَللَّـهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوْذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَضِلَّ، أَوْ أُضَلَّ، أَوْ أَزِلَّ، أَوْ أُزَلَّ، أَوْ أَظْلِمَ، أَوْ أُظْلَمَ، أَوْ أَجْهَلَ، أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيَّ

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ اَنْ اَضِلَّ، اَوْ اُضَلَّ، اَوْ اَزِلَّ، اَوْ اُزَلَّ، اَوْ اَظْلِمَ، اَوْاُظْلَمَ،اَوْ اَجْهَلَ، اَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيَّ

Allaahumma innee a‛oodhu bika an adilla aw udalla, aw azilla aw uzalla, aw azlima aw uzlama, aw adhala aw yudhala ‛alayya

Translation

O Allah, I seek refuge with You lest I should stray or be led astray, or slip (i.e. to commit a sin unintentionally) or be tripped, or oppress or be oppressed, or behave foolishly or be treated foolishly.
