516. Dua for Strong Winds and Storms

Narrated Abu Huraira (RA):The Messenger of Allah (๏ทบ) said: The wind is the liveliness of Allah; It brings mercy, but also punishment. So when you see the wind blow, don't curse it; (Rather) seek its good from Allah, and seek refuge (from Him) from its evil.

Translation

O Allah, I ask You for the good of it, for the good of what it contains, and for the good of what is sent with it. I seek refuge in You from the evil of it, from the evil of what it contains, and from the evil that is sent with it.

518. Dua When Seeing Dark Clouds

If the sky was covered with thick black clouds, the color of the Prophet's (๏ทบ) face would change; He would then enter the house, go out, go to the front and then come to the back. Then if it rained (started), his panic would go away. I could tell by the look on his face. Once (about the reason for this) I asked the Prophet (๏ทบ). In reply he said, โ€œAisha! It could even be like the clouds that the people of Aad said when they saw it - (24) And when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, "This is a cloud bringing us rain!" Rather, it is that for which you were impatient: a wind, within it a painful punishment, (25) Destroying everything by command of its Lord. And they became so that nothing was seen [of them] except their dwellings. Thus do We recompense the criminal people. (Sura Al-Ahqaf 46:24-25)
