Being Kind To Protect Oneself From Another's Vile Behavior

Sahih Muslim

حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، فِي هَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ‏.‏ مِثْلَ مَعْنَاهُ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏ "‏ بِئْسَ أَخُو الْقَوْمِ وَابْنُ الْعَشِيرَةِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

This hadith has been reported on the authority of Ibn Munkadir with the same chain of transmitters but with a slight variation of wording.
