The Book of Zakat
12/50. Chapter:
Zakat is forbidden for the messenger of Allah pbuh and his family, and they are Banu Hashim and Banu Al-Muttalib, and no one else
Sahih Muslim
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَابْنُ، بَشَّارٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَجَدَ تَمْرَةً فَقَالَ " لَوْلاَ أَنْ تَكُونَ صَدَقَةً لأَكَلْتُهَا " .
Anas b. Malik reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) found a date and said: Were it not (that I fear) it may be part of sadaqa, I would have eaten it.
