Responding to the Imam’s Salam
Sunan Ibn Majah
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْهُذَلِيُّ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " إِذَا سَلَّمَ الإِمَامُ فَرُدُّوا عَلَيْهِ " .
It was narrated from Samurah bin Jundub that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “When the Imam says the Salam, then respond to him.”
