4:116

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِۦ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَـٰلًۢا بَعِيدًا ١١٦

Saheeh International

Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly gone far astray.

Tafsir of "Ibn Kathir" (English)

Shirk Shall not be Forgiven, in Reality the Idolators Worship Shaytan We talked about Allah's statement,إِنَّ اللّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَن يَشَاءVerily, Allah forgives not (the sin of) setting up partners (in worship) with Him, but He forgives whom He wills, sins other than that,before (Ayah 48) and mentioned the relevant Hadiths in the beginning of this Surah.Allah's statement,وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِاللّهِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَلاً بَعِيدًاand whoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, has indeed strayed far away.means, he will have taken other than the true path, deviated from guidance and righteousness, destroyed himself in this life and the Hereafter, and lost contentment in this life and the Hereafter
