فَنَبَذْنَاهُBut We cast him forth,meaning, `We threw him out,'بِالْعَرَاءon the naked shore,Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, and others said that this refers to land in which there is no vegetation and no buildings.وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌwhile he was sick,means, when he was weak of body.وَأَنبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ
