فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَـٰثِمِينَ ٣٧
Saheeh International
But they denied him, so the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone.
Tafsir of "Ibn Kathir" (English)
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُAnd they denied him; so the earthquake seized them,فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَand they lay, prostrate in their dwellings.Qatadah said, "They were dead."Others said that they were thrown on top of one another
